Family friendly and fun for all ages, Sportie’s is a community-focused Sporting Club, located in Gladesville.
Sportie’s not only provides hospitality and entertainment facilities on-site, but it supports a wide range of sports related activities, and is a much-loved meeting place for local businesses, schools and community members.
Jarjoura Design in collaboration with Swerve Design was engaged to upgrade the club’s interior and al-fresco spaces, as well as resolve the building’s architectural facades.
Our works included the upgrade and relocation of the gaming room with a VIP entrance, outdoor and indoor kids play areas, indoor bar and bistro, TAB/ sports club, a bowling green and amenities as well as the creation of an outdoor dining and bar area and a function space.
The architecture of the building was looking disjointed due to various extensions over the years, so our approach was to unify the exterior architecture by keeping the architectural features that connect Sporties with the local history, resulting on a much stronger and meaningful architectural street presence.
The resulting design is a balance between acknowledging the club’s local history, whilst creating an atmosphere of fun and relaxed resort living to an urban and modern ‘Sports Resort’ concept.
