Lightning Ridge is a unique and historic town in outback NSW, famed for its rare opal mining history.
In the centre of town, sits the Lightning Ridge District Bowling Club, which not only hosts events related to the opal mining culture, but has also grown dramatically over the past few years to provide a social and sporting hub to the local community.
Jarjoura Design in collaboration with Swerve Design and Network Refurbishment & Construction was engaged to design and construct the upgrade of the club’s various interior spaces.
Our client’s vision for the new interior scheme was for a relaxing, calming and welcoming atmosphere which we achieved through the use of natural materials and a warm, neutral colour palette. Inspiration was also drawn from the vivid hues of the outback sky and the beauty of black opals, which are represented on a few interior gestures such as the feature ceiling coffers with colourful LED lighting, the carpet and artwork.
This project is being completed over two stages. Stage One comprises the interior design of the entry, reception, coffee area and bathrooms which are partially complete.
Stage 2 comprises the interior design of the brewery, gaming rooms, function room, bar and bistro, TAB and sports bar and will be addressed in the near future.
Working closely with our clients, we collaborate on the journey across the concept design and development stages through
to the finished construction. Our focus is always to design real and innovative spaces which enhance the end-users’ experience
by bringing the most successful outcome to our clients.
